Our Pastor: Dr. George A. Bell
Dr. George A. Bell, born July 22, 1962 to Joseph and Ann Lee Bell, is the third child of five children. Born in Midland, Texas he moved to Phoenix, Arizona at the age of ten and completed school there. Receiving his call from God at the age of sixteen (1978), he complied at the age of 30 and attended West Texas Baptist Seminary where he received his Master's Degree in Theology. In 1991, God began to prompt his heart with the desire of returning to his native home, Midland, Texas. He complied once again, and in May of 1992 he returned home. Finding the conditions of his once beloved hometown, and the deterioration of the Southside of Midland, God gave him a vision of restoration for that community.
Dr. Bell, AKA "P.B.", became Pastor of the Greater Ideal Baptist Church in January 1999, making him its seventh pastor. The husband of YáTon and father of Shafon, Dontavia and Gloria Bell, he has completed phase one of a three-stage vision.
Phase I - A Family Life Center that was completed in February of 2002. A nineteen thousand square foot building used to serve the church and the community.
Phase II - Includes a daycare facility, transitional housing for men, women and children, a park in memory of Councilman Bradford and several new businesses.
Phase III - New Sanctuary and Worship Center
Dr. Bell is a driven man with the vision as his most prominent motivation.
"We are possessors of the Promises of God, not settling for the promises only, but desiring to see the fulfillment thereof."
No pain - No gain
No cross - No crown
No vision - No decision
