In 1999, Dr. George Bell became the pastor of Greater Ideal Baptist Church. Under his leadership, the church thrived while membership increased dramatically. Throughout this time of growth, Pastor Bell recognized both the responsibility and privilege of improving the community in which the church was located. As a result of his vision and with the support of the church, the Greater Ideal Family Life Center was constructed and soon opened on February 2, 2002. By providing ministry and outreach programs form this building, we hope to give the residents the knowledge, skills, and power to change their community for the better. As a result, we expect to see increases in employment, better and safer housing, and more affordable childcare options.
